Have you ever tried Matcha? If not, it is a must! Not only is it full of antioxidant goodness, but it can also increase your metabolism. I usually need an energy boost around 3:00 in the afternoon. That is when I turn to matcha. I'll make a latte with almond milk and sweeten it with a little raw honey. I bought some really good local wildflower honey at the farmers market this summer.
Matcha is green tea powder. The powder is more potent than green tea leaves found in tea bags which is why it delivers so many more benefits. The organic matcha I am using claims to increase memory and concentration, boost energy, enhance digestion, and even lower cholesterol. All I know is that it is a healthy treat that I love having in the afternoon.
Matcha may seem expensive when you are shopping the various brands that exist. But the product really goes a long way. You only need 1/2 tsp to make one latte so what ever size you buy it will last for months. I am currently using Organic Matcha that I bought on amazon. Below is the link to check it out.
A very simple recipe to make a matcha latte:
1/2 tsp Match powder
12/cup boiling water
1 tsp raw honey
1/2 cup heated almond milk (or any nut milk)
Boil the water
Scoop 1/2 tsp Matcha powder into mug
Pour boiling water into mug, add raw honey and stir well to mix. Some people even use a small whisk to incorporate the ingredients
Heat up almond milk - 1 minute for 1/2 cup
Using a hand-held frother, froth the milk. If you don't have a hand-held frother, simply pour the heated almond milk into the cup.
