Easy Recipes For Dinner That Are Quick And Healthy

Dinner can always be a challenge. When it is a hectic week or you just don't feel like cooking, it can be easy to defer to takeout. Take out foods are going to be unhealthy no matter how you try to think it is healthy.

Ingredients will not be organic and since you aren't sure how the food was cooked, it could be high in sodium and sugar. I am not saying we shouldn't have take out EVER. I am just recognizing that when we order food from a restaurant it will not be as healthy as if it was made at home. But I get it. Some days we need to have take out. I do it myself. Life happens! We cannot be 100% all the time.

The lack of organic ingredients in take out food means you are eating pesticides and chemicals that your body is going to try to fight. Non-organic food is also low in nutrients. That means you are going to be hungrier quicker.

The vitamins and minerals you think you are getting by ordering a takeout salad aren't as high as you could be getting. Organic food is higher in nutrients which means you are going to be fuller longer. Plus, with more nutrients that your body can use important systems such as digestion and immune function are stronger helping you to avoid illness and disease.

Some people say that organic food is more expensive. I would say you should think about it this way. First, if you are fuller longer, you are going to eat less. So the money spent on organic food actually becomes cheaper since you will have leftovers.

Organic food lasts longer. I recently bought organic broccoli from the local health food store. It stayed fresh in my refrigerator for 2 weeks! I couldn't believe how long it lasted! Finally, organic food helps your body be as healthy as it can be. By making your body as healthy as it can be, you are not spending money on healthcare costs as frequently. Eating organic does not prevent you from every getting sick but it can reduce the frequency.

Do you suffer from gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, brain fog, acne, lack of energy, moodiness, skin rashes, abdominal pain, anxiety, frequent belching or stomach gurgling? Then the way you are eating today, is causing your body to react negatively.

RECIPES

Skinny Shrimp Scampi from Just A Taste. Zucchini noodles are the best invention ever! I love that they cook in 3 minutes and give your dinner an extra boost of vegetable goodness. One tip is to allow the noodles to dry out for at least 5 minutes on a paper towel or kitchen towel. This helps prevent them from getting soggy. Pair this with a salad and you have a fast and healthy dinner in under 30 minutes. Click here for the recipe.

Quick and Easy Organic Chicken Stir-fry from Whole Lifestyle Nutrition. As promised, prep and cooking for this is done in 30 minutes. The recipe combines chicken with mushrooms, broccoli, onions and carrots. If you've identified mushrooms and onions as vegetables that cause some of the symptoms we listed above, then substitute green beans. The sauce is made from chicken stock, soy sauce and arrowroot. Click here for the recipe.

Sweet Tomato Broccoli Rabe Baked Penne from Strength and Sunshine. The recipe uses a gluten free pasta. Not sure you should be eating gluten free pasta? Think about this: White pasta turns into sugar in our body so it is very inflammatory. It can cause bloating, gas and diarrhea. Look for pastas made from chickpeas or lentils instead. This dish only takes 20 minutes from prep to table and it makes a great meatless Monday option. Click here for the recipe.

Taco Chicken Salad from Lexis Clean Kitchen. This is a great way to use up left-over chicken from another meal. Plus it has a variety of healthy ingredients that can be jarred or frozen. Ingredients such as roasted red peppers, black beans and corn kernels. Salads for dinner are an easy way to get healthy vegetables into our day. Click here for the recipe.

Spring Roll Bowls from Tastes Better from Scratch. Have you gotten on the bowl bandwagon? If not, this recipe will convince you. While the recipe is fast, there are unique ingredients needed such as Hoisin sauce to have the right Asian flavors on the vegetables. It also uses rice noodles which is a great way to avoid gluten. Click here for the recipe.

I hope you are inspired to make healthy dinners that are fast. All of the above can be made with organic ingredients which will boost the nutritional value and keep your body healthy.
