I started using a diffuser about a year ago. What I love about it is the variety of essential oils that have health benefits. It is so interesting to know that essential oils can be used for proactively managing your health.
I started reading more about essential oils because I was having a hard time sleeping. I didn't want to take an over-the-counter product so I started reading about lavender. Sure enough, by placing a couple of drops of lavender oil on my pillow, I was able to fall asleep more easily.
Then I was given a diffuser with a variety of essential oils. Ok - I asked my sister to buy it for me. For holidays & birthdays we tell each other what we want. Then we don't have to be disappointed or get something we need to return.
Anyway, the different oils she bought me were Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Cinnamon, Lemongrass, Sweet Orange, Peppermint, and Silver Fir. I love using Tea Tree and Eucalyptus during allergy and cough cold season. I definitely feel better by having the oils diffused into the air.
As far as the diffuser goes, she bought me Housmile diffuser which is perfect for my bedroom, office and living room. As you can see, I cart it around the house! Probably means I need another one! I really like the size as it holds enough water and can run for up to 10 hours. One thing that is important is to make sure you clean it every once in a while with white vinegar. Otherwise the inside gets a little gross from the condensation.
I mentioned the two oils I've used a lot. The others I have yet to try. Cinnamon oil is reportedly good for decreasing inflammation and increasing circulation. Lemongrass may relieve muscle pain and reduce body aches. Sweet Orange oil appears to be most beneficial if applied topically. Peppermint is good for unclogging sinuses when diffused. Silver fir is also good for congestion relief.
I hope this post on essential oils inspires you to try them. If you do, please let me know what you think. Follow my blog on Bloglovin.
